Lucian enters the main door of the tavern. He is carrying a guitar case strapped to his back, wearing elaborately embellished jacket and pants. And he is absolutely covered, head to toe, in dark blue blood and ichor. Clean spots have been scraped off around his eyes.
Davis turns his head half expecting the woman who had left a bit ago to be coming back in. He was surprised at what his eyes fell on though, at least he was soaked in nasty lake water not whatever this man had ended up in.
Lucian looks up at Davis and sighs deeply. Wet. Lake water. He gestures brusquely toward the fire, "Ay, amigo. Do you know we are trapped in abandoned amnesia village? I have had a very difficult evening. I imagine you have as well."
Davis blinked at the man, no wonder he couldn't remember exactly what he was doing before waking up in the water. "Just my fuckin' luck" he groaned rubbing his eyes between two fingers. "Abandoned makes sense. You are only the second person I have seen here... There isn't even a blasted barkeep to serve someone a damned drink..."
Lucian sucks in a breath through his teeth, a protective measure to keep spider ichor out of his mouth any further. Then he exhales and reaches into vest, pulling a silver flask of tequila from his pocket and tossing it to Davis. Then he swings his guitar case off his shoulder and starts stripping off his outerwear to dry on the back of a chair. "There's a few of us now. Two dozen, maybe three, but not much more. We keep coming out of the lake. I am Lucian Corvo."
Davis could have kissed the man covered in spider ichor for the silver flask that was caught. Twisting the lid free he sniffed, and let out a sigh. Since the place was abandoned he made sure to only take a small pull before twisting it back shut. "Much appreciation Lucian. I guess I am one of the latest victims of the lake.. Name is Davis..." he said standing in his bare feet and offering the flask back.
Lucian shakes his hand and waves the flask back to Davis, sighing as he strips off his boots and pours blue mash and liquid off into the fire. "I know a brujo. You are large man, drink your fill, Davis." If he reopens the flask, he'll see it has refilled itself to full. Lucian sighs again and starts pulling on his shoulders, rubbing his hips. More to himself, he mutters, "I am getting too old for jumping off buildings. Amigo, Davis. Do you remember who you were before now? Some people do not."
Davis stopped the offering of the flask back, and instead took another larger swig of the only good thing he had found since fighting for his life in that lake. As his eyes studied the man, he was curious of him, this place, and damn well anything right now. "Well I was a blacksmith over in my lands.. I do remember that, but what I was doing right before I was fighting that water I have no idea..." The man's table held a belt full of iron working tools, it must of been the weight from the hammer that had caused such a struggle. There was also a small rucksack that was soaked setting near the fire with the contents yet to be gone through.
Lucian looks over at Davis and takes another, longer look. Blacksmith. Does that mean he's from the lands of elfs and monsters? Or is that just how blacksmiths dress? "Where are you from, Davis? Do you believe in witches and faeries? Vampires and elves?"
Davis nods his head slowly. "Of course... Those are races all in my old lands. We also had dragons, were-people, and a lot more..." he shrugs at them as if it was no big deals. "A dwarf is who taught me my trade..."
Lucian nods and tucks this away. The magic lake seems to preferentially, but not exclusively, kidnap people from magic worlds. Not real worlds, like his, where the only monsters are vampires. "I think you will be comfortable here. As comfortable as any."
Davis says to Lucian, "The place I am from is called Ashein... What about you?"
Lucian nods to Davis. "Santa Cecilia." Which is the name of the town he was in most recently back in México. "Do they have giant spiders in Ashein, Davis?"
Davis thinks about stories he had heard about drows and where they came from, but that was something he had never saw with his own eyes. Not to mention a huge spider would probably have him throwing everything at it while he ran away screaming like a woman. "The Darkcaverns have some according to rumors...." a shiver runs over the man at the thought of them.
Lucian waves his hand toward the door. "If you go exploring, you may find a shipwreck far inland. Watch out for spiders. I don't think there could be more than the one we killed in there, but I don't know how magic spiders work."
Davis will not be traveling there anytime soon, so that warning was well welcomed. As for the flask he took one more strong draining pull before capping it back up. "I haven't explored much... I was more worried about getting everything dried out..."
Lucian nods and holds out his hand for the flask. "First days are hard. There's still empty rooms upstairs, and there's plenty of empty buildings in town." He gestures to his guitar case. "I like to play here, makes it feel more alive. Just, the spider." He shrugs and offers a wan smile.
Davis hands the flask over to it's owner, and takes a deep breath in. "Sounds like you are telling me that I am going to be here for awhile..." this made him look back over to that rucksack. What was in this one? What had he packed away? "You are a bard?" he asked curious now that the guitar case was gestured to. "I cannot carry a tune even in my pocket"
Lucian raises an eyebrow slowly, then looks down at his case. He looks down at his hands, covered in spider ichor. He smiles as he remembers carving his way through the spider, the rush of adrenaline. "I am a Mariachi." He looks over at Davis once more, the smith. He looks up at his red hair. "Alright, Candilillero. I need to rest, I am not a young crow anymore. Take care, enjoy your drink. Get comfortable." Quietly, he starts collecting his jacket, his guitar case, and getting ready to head upstairs.
